Our clients started with a tired Georgian cottage in a wooded location that had a previous late twentieth century addition. Our task was to create a large extension with a luxurious master bedroom suite over a family kitchen together with rationalising the remainder of the house to improve daylighting and internal circulation.
The new element is designed in the style of a "barn" to ensure that it was subservient to the house. The dwelling is “locally listed” and situated in a Conservation Area. We also advised on the removal of a number of trees – a sensitive issue in a Conservation Area.
